FAQs

Is my label in keeping with UK regulations?

1

Every label needs to be evaluated individually. This service is included for free for all customers who want it, as soon as you’ve paid an invoice to print or design the label, you get immediate access to our expert UK regulatory advisor, who will happily answer your questions to help you get your label right.

What is the lead time for printing?

2

We typically print labels in 3-5 working days. Unusual labels might day a little longer. Artwork and compliance checking can also add time. Typically we can meet a customers timeline requirements when specified, so if you need labels at a particular speed or on a given day, just ask.

Do I need to pay for a cutter?

3

We have a huge library of cutters already available, covering the vast majority of common label sizes. If your label is within a few millimetres of a cutter that we have, we will give you the option of adjusting the size slightly, or paying for a cutter if you want to keep the exact size. Once you’ve paid for a cutter, we will hang onto it, to ensure you never have to pay for it again.

Can you provide peel and reveal labels?

4

Yes, we print peel and reveal labels for some of the UK’s biggest brands. Typically these are used when a customer needs multiple languages, or have a lot of ingredients and needs more face space than a classic label can provide.

Are you qualified to provide regulatory feedback?

5

There is no formal qualification to say that somebody can evaluate a supplement label. There are a range of factors we use to ensure our feedback is as accurate as possible. We partner with the local trading standards office as part of their primary authority scheme. We also hire in outside experts, and compare opinions with them to ensure knowledge is pooled. Beyond that we have more than 10 years experience of checking labels, hearing feedback from customers and non-customer alike about what troubles they ran into, and we can use that knowledge going forward. We also use an AI tool to help double check everything. No check is ever flawless, and final responsibility always lies with the customer, but we stand behind our feedback proudly.

Why should I use you rather than a budget label printer?

6

Use the budget label printer and find out! As ever, things which are cheap are so for a good reason. The key way printers cut costs is by using thinner material to print on, or by using cheaper finishing machinery, such as drag knife cutters, or cheaper non-industrial grade printers, such as home inkjet style machines. All of these typically result in either labels that look unprofessional, that have ink which chips off, and in cases of poor finishing the manufacturers typically struggle to apply the labels because they are not properly separated from the matrix (waste material normally cut away).
